Party & RAT! Click on the Big As Texas button at the IBA eStore. BAT Party.Courtyard/Marriott Dallas-Allen TX is the host hotel for the BAT Ride Around Texas. Sherman, 38 miles north of Allen, is the Start/Finish location for the RAT. Ride the RAT clockwise or anti-clockwise, stopping at 18 mandatory checkpoints, including the Sherman start/finish point, in order within the allotted time period. The RAT or RAT Rewind is available between the times listed below.
- All Start/Finish Dated Business Receipts are to be Date/Time/Sherman/TX
- RAT - less than 85 hours (GOLD 70hrs) - 7 am Tue, Sep 20 to 8 pm Fri, Sep 23
- RAT Rewind - less than 170 hours (GOLD 140hrs) - 6 pm Fri, Sep 16 to 8 pm Fri, Sep 23
You may start after the time listed above. This means you may self Start/Finish any time during the RAT windows. Use all the time available or select a start time based on your planned ride pace.
You must be finished before 8:00 pm, Friday, Sep 23.
Here are the IBA Certification Rules for the Ride Around Texas and Rewind *, modified for the Big As Texas event.
IBA Certification - Successful riders will receive concurrent IBA validation of their RAT, complete with the following at the Big As Texas party.
- RAT or RAT Rewind Certificate
- RAT Swag - RAT Flag, pins, patches and stickers
- Instant IBA Records entry
- Big As Texas event participation and banquet

* Note: The Sherman Start/Finish is being substituted for the mandatory Paris DBR requirement under the IBA RAT certification rules. Sherman is along the same route between mandatory stops of Childress - Paris - Texarkana. For this reason the Paris mandatory DBR stop is waived on the 2022 Big As Texas RAT & Rewind.
DBR - Dated Business Receipt: A DBR is a machine generated receipt with the date, time and LOCATION on it. Check it - do not assume it is correct. A receipt with an incorrect time/date/location is worthless. Check and re-check.
